Ian Marshall
Director of Instruction/Associate Professional
PGA Member

Ian was the Head Golf Professional at Watertown GC from 2008-2019 and the Assistant Professional from 2001-2007.  The simple fact that he was promoted from Assistant Professional to Head Professional is a testament to his work ethic and support from the membership of Watertown GC!  After leaving Watertown at the end of 2019, Ian created IAMGOLF, LLC, a golf indistry consulting company that specializes in Golf Operations and Club Governance.  In addition, he was hired as the Lead Junior Coach/Director of Instruction at the Northeast Performance Institute.  Needless to say, he is experienced!

In 2006, Ian accomplished one of his lifetime goals of becoming a PGA Member.  He is a 2001 graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a BS in Business & Marketing.  During Ian's career, he has succeeded in distinguishing himself as a true leader in the Connecticut Section PGA and ultimately the PGA of America on a national level.  In 2020, he was recognized with our most prestigious award as the Connecticut Section PGA Golf Professional of the Year!  He has also given back to the game by becoming involved in the governance of the CT PGA for many years.  In addition to serving as a CT PGA Board Member, he was also elected by his peers as an Executive Board Member and fulfilled the offices of Secretary, Vice-President, President (2017-2018) and Honorary Past President.  Finally, in 2018, Ian stepped up yet again and succeeded in being elected as the PGA of America, District 1 Director from 2019-2022.  This season, Ian will represent our District at both the PGA Championship and Ryder Cup!

In addition to Ian's dedication to making golf a better game with his undying volunteerism, he also has quite the competitive resume.  These are the abbreviated highlights:  2012 PGA Tour Travelers Championship Contestant; 2007 CT PGA Section Champion; CSGA Open Championship participant from 2002-2020 and 13 time PGA Challenge Cup Team Member and the current Team Captain 2020-2023.  Needless to say, ask for all your shots when you tee it up against Ian!
