A place to be together

Sometimes that’s what matters most.

After a funeral or memorial service, people often aren’t quite ready to go home. There are stories to tell. People who haven’t seen one another in years. Family members who have traveled to be there. Photographs to look through. Memories to share. And sometimes simply the comfort of sitting around a table together.

A celebration of life at Shuttle Meadow gives family and friends a comfortable place to do exactly that.

Celebrations of life, memorial luncheons & receptions

A gathering that reflects the person you are remembering.

Every family handles loss differently. Some prefer a traditional luncheon following funeral services. Others plan a memorial reception or celebration of life on another day, giving family and friends an opportunity to gather in a more relaxed setting.

Shuttle Meadow can accommodate different types of remembrance gatherings, including:

  • Celebrations of life
  • Memorial luncheons
  • Funeral luncheons
  • Memorial receptions
  • Gatherings following funeral services
  • Family memorial gatherings
  • Repasts
  • Remembrance receptions

Whatever you choose to call the gathering, the purpose is the same: to bring people together.

Small family gatherings are welcome

The size of the gathering isn’t what makes it meaningful.

Sometimes a celebration of life includes a large circle of family, friends, neighbors and colleagues. Sometimes it is 25 or 30 people who knew someone best. Both are important.

Shuttle Meadow offers different event spaces and configurations, allowing us to accommodate more intimate memorial luncheons as well as larger celebrations of life. Tell us approximately how many people you expect, and we’ll help you determine which space may be most comfortable for your gathering.

A meal can bring comfort to a difficult day

Sit down. Share stories. Spend time together.

Food has always had a way of bringing people together. Following a service, a luncheon or reception gives everyone an opportunity to sit down, reconnect and spend time with one another without feeling rushed.

Talk with Michelle about menu and beverage options appropriate for your gathering. We’ll help you consider the guest count, timing, seating and style of meal so there is one less thing for your family to worry about.

A private setting for family & friends

There are moments when privacy matters.

A celebration of life should give people room to talk, laugh, cry, reminisce and reconnect comfortably.

Shuttle Meadow’s private country club setting provides an alternative to gathering in a busy restaurant or trying to accommodate everyone at someone’s home. Your family can have a space set aside for the occasion and the time to simply be together.

Bring the memories with you

Make the gathering personal.

Some families want simplicity. Others find comfort in surrounding themselves with photographs and memories.

If you’d like to personalize the gathering, talk with us about meaningful touches such as:

  • 01Framed family photographs
  • 02A memory table or photo boards
  • 03Flowers
  • 04A slideshow or presentation
  • 05Special keepsakes, memorabilia or a memory book
  • 06A table recognizing favorite interests, accomplishments or traditions

These details don’t need to be elaborate. Sometimes one photograph can start an entire room telling stories.

Celebrating a life well lived

There is no required format for remembering someone.

A celebration of life can reflect the person you’re remembering. Perhaps they loved golf. Perhaps family was everything. Maybe they were known for their career, their community involvement, their sense of humor or the friendships they collected over a lifetime.

Some gatherings include remarks and formal remembrances. Others simply allow people to share a meal and stories naturally.

We’ll help provide the setting.

Your family brings the memories.

Planning on short notice

We’ll help you work through the details.
